FT Partners Advises Advent International on its Acquisition of TSG
Overview of Transaction
- On June 27, 2019, Advent International (“Advent”), announced it has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Transaction Services Group (“TSG”) in partnership with the Company’s management team and its founder, Murray Bolton
- Founded in 1994 in Auckland, New Zealand, TSG is a revenue management solutions company that provides business management software, integrated payments, and value-added services to clients in a range of industries including health and fitness, childcare, education, insurance, healthcare, sports and entertainment
- TSG has deep domain expertise serving the “subscription economy” — helping its clients to improve member retention and revenue performance, while reducing administrative burdens and costs
- The Company operates across New Zealand, Australia and the U.K., with emerging customer bases in Japan, Europe, and the U.S.
- Advent International is one of the largest global private equity investors with $36 billion in assets under management
Significance of Transaction
- The acquisition will allow TSG to continue building on its recent growth, further invest in its platform, and continue expanding internationally
- Over the last three years, TSG has more than doubled its revenue, through both strong organic growth and several strategic acquisitions
- The transaction expands on Advent’s significant experience in payments and software industries having invested $3.8 billion in nine payments companies and $3.8 billion in six software companies worldwide
